Thank You Tartan Toddlers Print E-mail

We're loving these photos and we're so grateful to the children from Forest Friends Nursery who took part in a "Tartan Toddle" raising a whopping £450 for TACC !!!
Thank you to every one of the kids, and everyone who helped them including TACC Ambassador Miranda Jane Slaven for organising it.  The money they raised will help us to help disadvantaged children.  As an example, this amount raised would fund a group to attend a Scotland match via our "My First Scotland Match" programme - the Forest Friends children should be very proud of themselves !!!

Whilst the Scotland mens team were preparing for a friendly with France in Metz, Scotland's womens team were playing top seeds Iceland in the Euro 2017 Qualifiers at Falkirk Stadium.  Although the result was disappoinitng, the atmosphere was good.  TACC invited some disadvataged young people along to the game as part of the "My First Scotland Match" programme.  There were several groups of children involved, including some from the DadsWork charity (pictured above).  DadsWork is a community project in East Lothian working with fathers and male care givers and their children, and one of the things they try to do is to organise trips and outings for fathers and their children.  TACC were happy to help support this initiative.

Here is what they had to say "A great evening at Scotland Ladies v Iceland Ladies Euro Qualifier at the Falkirk Stadium (slight result disappointment). A huge thank you to the wonderful Tartan Army Children Charity (TACC) for making this possible and a huge thank you for the wonderful Strips, Saltire and £10 for every child."

MFSM - Lithuania - October 2016 Print E-mail

On Saturday 8th October 2016, Scotland played LIthuania at Hampden Park Glasgow as part of the World Cup 2018 Qualifying Campaign.  The result was disappoinitng, but for some youngsters it was still a great evening.  TACC invited some disadvataged young people along to the game as part of the "My First Scotland Match" (MFSM) programme.  One boy was from East Lothian and attended with his father and the other 6 were from Braehead Primary School in Ayr.  These children took part in a Fit 15 challenge where they were asked to take part in an activity that involved them being active for 15 mins daily. This was an initiative run by the schools Health and Wellbeing coordinator who's objective was to try and get more children from this socially deprived area more active with their families.  The coordinator approached TACC to ask if a MFSM place could be used as an incentive for the children to take part.  TACC were happy to oblige and the lucky six won their place to attend the match after successfully completing the challenge!

They all received their match tickets, Scotland shirt, Saltire flags and £10 to spend and were extremely excited about their big day out!!  A bonus was TACC Chairman Jim Hart giving them some of his renowned home-made tablet.
