Calum Thomson is a final year medical student at Queen's University, Belfast and he is currently in Arusha, Tanzania completing a medical elective. He planned on climbing Mount Kilimanjaro before returning and so thought if he was climbing it anyway he might as well raise some money for charity in the process. As an added incentive to gain sponsors, he plans on climbing it in a kilt.
Calum has set a target of £1000. It might be a little ambitious but there's no point in setting the bar low.
Calum will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro from the 15-21st August. He is climbing the Lemosho route on his own with Frank my guide, 2 porters and a cook. The weather can be unpredictable, and hehave little idea what to expect but plans on wearing his kilt for the full 7 days.
Once he has completed the climb he will update his page and post some photographs.
Thanks for your support Calum, everyone at TACC wishes you well and thanks you for your efforts and support.
