Spain Donation Print E-mail

Tartan Army Children’s Charity is proud to team up with the Bay Radio who introduced them to the local children’s charity EMAUS. This collaboration has led to a massive 17,000 Euro donation being given to EMAUS.

On October 11th 2011 Spain plays host to The Scotland National football team in Alicante. The Tartan Army are well known the world over for travelling in their thousands, displaying good behaviour and having fun with the locals. They have won many supporters awards across Europe.

As well as their fun loving antics The Tartan Army are well known for their charitable work. The Tartan Army Children's Charity, (TACC) are a registered charity that is run and supported by Scotland fans. We donate money to local children’s charities whenever Scotland plays in an area. While in Alicante we will be donating £15000 (approx EUR17,000) to EMAUS to:

1. Supply milk and nappies to the baby unit

2. Provide a playground for the Rellu house

3. Provide a football pitch at the main Altea house

Fans will also be attending a large party with the children from EMAUS on 10th October, the day before the game for singing, dancing and a whole barrel of laughs!

Speaking ahead of the Donation Alistair Hunter a TACC spokesperson said: "We are delighted to be working with EMAUS, they are providing excellent services to local, vulnerable people and we are very happy to be able to assist the children they support so they can enjoy play and recreation despite having personal difficulties. All children should be able to play and have fun and we are very proud to play a small part of that with the EMAUS children"

Spain donation & clothes appeal Print E-mail

In October we will be making a £15,000 grant to a group of children's homes in the Alicante area. Don't be fooled by the location, their situation is pretty desperate and our support will make a massive difference.

We will be funding a playground at one home and a small football pitch at another, to bring a little fun and recreation to their lives.

We are also taking clothes, shoes, blankets, nappies etc over with us. If you can donate any items for ages 3-16 please email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

We're also throwing a big party for the kids on the day of the match, watch here for a report after the trip (or email us if you'd like to attend)

Lastly...PLEASE BUY A SPAIN T-SHIRT, all proceeds go towards the donations

TACC continue to support children across Scotland. We are happy to have introduced 3 groups of children to the highs and lows of watching Scotland at Hampden!

- A group of children suffering or recovering from cancer (cared for by CLIC Sargent) were our guests at the Lithuania match.

- A group of children with learning difficulties (supported by Aberlour) travelled down from Moray for the Czech Republic match.

- A group of children from a deprived area of Glasgow were our guests at the Denmark friendly.

All the kids were given a brand new Scotland top and £10 pocket money to spend on the day
