Edinburgh Marathon Print E-mail

Ian and Greg are running the Edinburgh marathon this year (26 miles each, none of your easy relay stuff this year!) and have decided to run it for the Tartan Army Children's Charity who raise money all year round for disadvantaged children in Scotland and in the countries they visit to watch Scotland play.

If you would like to sponsor us, thank you very much, any donations will be gratefully received and will hopefully push us on in those horrible last 7 or 8 miles.

Jim Taylor Print E-mail

Jim Taylor was fellow Scotland supporter who sadly passed away in July, aged 73.

We were deeply touched to receive a donation of over £200 from Jim’s wife Barbara and daughter Lisa, who organised a collection for TACC at Jim’s funeral.

Jim played a fair bit of football in his time, with Peebles Rovers in 1960-63. Apparently his bonuses paid for Barbara’s engagement ring!

Lisa also sent us a letter that Jim sent to Scotland manager Craig Brown ahead of the England play-off in 1999, and the reply he received back from Craig!

We are extremely grateful to Barbara and Lisa for doing this for TACC at such a sad time, and promise to put the donation to great use.

Thanks in July.... Print E-mail

TACC would like to send thanks for the following contributions in July......

Staff at the Scottish FA who did yet another collection for TACC, raising £62.

Graeme Baxter and the guys at Dunfermline TA who organised their 2nd fundraising event for TACC, and raised £250.

The Charity Committee at Tullis Russell in Fife, who donated £250 towards our Lithuania donation, specifically to help fund the children's party.
